Solo & Esemble

Date: To Be Announced

(Parents, please keep both dates open this year!!)

Where: To Be Announced

Time: To Be Announced

Attire: Professional/Business (no jeans, t-shirts, or sneakers please!!)

Participation is mandatory for first and second periods, and optional for all others.  PLEASE!!! If you do not have your music follow the steps below and complete them as soon as possible.  (The longer you wait the less time you have to prepare.)

It is recommended that you print these instructions.

1. Decide if you are playing a "solo" or an "ensemble" piece. (i.e - duet, trio, quartet, choir, etc..)

2. Go to www.flmusiced.org

  1. Scroll down and click on "FBA"

  2. Click on "music lists"

  3. Click on "Solo & Ensemble Music List 2003"

**You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader for this.  There is a link at the bottom of this page to install it!

  4. Select SEVERAL titles from your instrument list making sure that the "Grade Level", (difficulty of the piece), is not below the requirement.  1st period - Grade 3 or above, 2nd period - Grade 2 or above, and all others can chose anything within their playing abilities.  Beginners should not go above Grade 1 unless they have spoken with Mr. Williams first.  Be sure to write down all pertinent information about the pieces you select, (again, select several).

3. Take your written information to any major music store, and ask to "see" those pieces. (Some may not be available which is why you have selected several titles.)

4. Purchase the one, (or ones), you have chosen, and bring them to school to show Mr. Williams. BE SURE YOUR FULL NAME AND PERIOD IS ON THE FRONT OF YOUR MUSIC!

5. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!
